VILLAGE OF NORTH SYRACUSE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Village of North Syracuse is required to develop, implement, and enforce a Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) which is designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants from small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) to the maximum extent practicable (MEP) to protect water quality and to satisfy the appropriate water quality requirements of the Environmental Conservation Law and the Clean Water Act. According to the federal regulation, the SWMP consists of the following six minimum control measures:

Village residents are encouraged to review and comment on the SWMP and DRAFT Annual Report. DRAFT Annual Reports for the current reporting period are generally available by March 1st. Written comments can be e-mailed to the Clerk’s office at ClerkTreasurer@northsyracuseny.gov
The Village is required to evaluate and update the SWMP on an annual basis. Residents are encouraged to participate in this process. For specific information or if you’d like to be involved in the Village’s program development and/or implementation, please contact the Code Enforcement Officer at (315) 458-4763 or via email at Codes@northsyracuseny.gov.
If you suspect someone has illegally dumped contaminants such as chemicals, construction materials, paint, or petroleum products into a storm sewer, ditch or roadway, please immediately contact the Onondaga County Stormwater Pollution Hotline at (315) 435-3157. The hotline receives calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If you suspect stormwater contamination related to a construction site (for example, sediment tracking onto roadways or sediment laden runoff entering streams or storm sewers), please contact the Code Enforcement Officer immediately at (315) 458-4763.
